Background
NGC 6441 is a rich, massive globular cluster 38,000 light-years away in Scorpius, sitting just 5' east of the orange star G Scorpii. One of the most luminous globulars in the Galaxy, comparable to NGC 6388.
My Observing Notes
25-cm (Meade 10-inch LX200, The Coffee Grinder): Located via G Scorpii in the stinger of Scorpius. The field is dominated by the bright orange G Sco, with the cluster tucked in beneath. Little internal structure resolves at this aperture.(Friday, May 2025)
