Background
NGC 6167 is a 7th magnitude open cluster about 3^\circ north of NGC 6134, with several dozen stars spread across a 10' area visible in a small telescope. One of the chain of bright clusters strung along the Milky Way through Norma. A Trumpler II 3 m grouping, similar in character to its near-neighbour NGC 6134.
